Hi I’m Jenny! You may have seen me around, cause I’ve been a fixture in the Amsterdam gay scene for more than 15 years. I started with organizing events at the Homomonument and today run two gay businesses, Club Church and Sauna Nieuwezijds with my papa and one of my fiancés.

Deep down I’m a simple suburban Greek-Australian girl, originally from Sydney. I moved to beautiful Amsterdam with my family some 20 years ago attracted by the liberal, free and tolerant atmosphere of this great city- and it’s a fantastic place to bring up kids!

People call me a 'media whore' & I will do pretty much anything to get on a front page. That being said, I like to use that media attention to promote issues dear to my heart- sexual & personal freedom, immigration, as well as the promotion of a vibrant & healthy Amsterdam gay scene.

I’m a dyed-in-the-wool activist and ran for the office of Night Mayor back in 2010 on a platform of sexual and personal freedom. Although ultimately unsuccessful, I’ve maintained my activist streak. Today I’m an outspoken advocate for PrEP, a drug that will help end the hiv epidemic but that frustratingly is still not available in The Netherlands. I’ll fight until it is!

It’s not easy being a single working mom with more than 50 kids, but I wouldn't trade my place for the world! For me, family comes first. I’m very proud of my Hopelezz girls, they are the most talented and beautiful kids ever, they can sing, they can dance, and they’re as pretty as their mama!

Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you!

I cut my teeth at the world famous Homomonument where our family ran the Roze Wester Festivals for years and later founded Pink Point, the gay & lesbian info kiosk at the Homomonument. We now own the infamous gay fetish Club Church as well as the fabulous gay bathhouse, Sauna NZ.

In 2015 we founded the inaugural Superball, the battle of the Drag Houses which has grown into an international blockbuster with more than 11 houses competing for Drag House of the Year in the Paradiso club.
Together with my girls, we formed the Begging Babes, a dedicated group of drag queens & kings who fundraise for Aidsfonds and help to break down the stigma around hiv/aids.

I joined the PrEPnu activist group a year ago. PrEP is a very effective new drug which prevents hiv infection. It’s been available in the US since 2012 where there’s been a 35% decrease in new hiv infections. PrEP remains unaffordable in the Netherlands, and I’ll fight until it’s made available for everyone at risk who wants it!

As board member of Gala we support many LGBT projects in The Netherlands, together with the financial help of Sauna NZ. We feel it’s our responsibility to support a healthy and vibrant local gay community!
Here are some of my articles for gay.nl, Gay&Night/Attitude magazine. Gay.nl, Gay&Night October 2016, Gay&Night August 2016, PrEPnu, Gay&Night May 2016
I launched the Drag Queen Olympics, the world’s premier sporting event for drag athletes, in 2003 together with my family, and we remain deeply involved in the Olympic Drag sports movement to this day. Olympic events include the 100m Stiletto Sprint, Handbag Toss, and Bitch Volleyball. But the Drag Olympics are more than just a competition of sporting prowess- hair, nails and accessories are just as important!
